This newly
designed Convention hall and hotel rooms on a quiet road just 2kms from the
famous Brihadeeshwarar Temple (Big Temple) become the talk of the town. Sundex
Mahal comes with a complete package for events and accommodation. This grand
edifice is designed by Ess Emm Design and Ess Emm Builders Chennai. The
property is divided into five main areas:
1. Sundex Mahal and dining space for parties and events
2. Sundex hotel rooms
3. Restaurant
4. Mini hall for small gatherings
5. Sundex apart hotels
Sundex Mahal is a well-designed space that has two levels.
Ground and mezzanine floors can occupy more than a thousand for an event. The
portico towering up to 37 feet holds a dominating chandelier that gathers all
the attention from this small street. The lobby of each floor has two small
chandeliers and a retro-style false ceiling. The custom railing design matches the false ceiling design of the lobby resembling an abstract star. This design
is also maintained in their main entrance gate; following a design element
hidden throughout the building. Travertine marble dominates the exterior and
semi-open lobby spaces but the interior of the Mahal remains white. Alaska gold
and imperial gold granites match well with the warm interior lighting; giving
away a warm ambiance and breaking the white dominance of the Mahal. A quirky touch
is added to the interior with its colorful strip lights and false ceiling
design instead of just restricting it to a white and warm tone.
This Mahal also has bride and groom rooms on the mezzanine level designed to
perfection.
The basement dining level has an industrial feel with white tiles and granite
flooring. The lighting here matches well with the steel interior, transferring
us to an entirely new space.
Sundex hotel rooms are placed on the
top floor above the Mahal. Usually, the rooms in a convention hall seem
boring, lacking aesthetics and design, but Sundex hotels break away from that
pattern. They have 15 rooms here, including twin sharing, connected rooms,
three occupancies, and a suite room.
Each room has unique wooden furnishings, lighting, and wallpapers.
Restaurant space has a colourful and
quirky vibe to it, standing unique from the room and Mahal interiors. Colourful
chairs and quirky cove lighting in the ceilings play well. The beautiful thing
about this place is the view of the big temple’s Vimanam from its window;
making this restaurant traditionally connected to Tanjore.
Mini Hall is connected by a steel
bridge from the restaurant. This bridge uniquely connects two buildings and plays well with the warm wooden interiors by not alienating the space.
Mini hall has a colourful party vibe with posh, wooden, and royal interiors. This
is achieved by their colourful cove lightings hiding inside the false ceiling
and warm chandeliers uplifting the royal wooden works.
Sundex Apart Hotels are four well-designed serviced apartments designed to perfection. If you miss your home
during your travel; then stay in a hotel designed like a home. Two
well-designed rooms with attached toilets connected to a living and dining area
work amazingly with the kitchen space.
If you ever visit Tanjore, never forget to book a stay in this well-designed royal
palace. This will enhance your overall experience.
